You will visit the Dyatlov Pass and see with your own eyes the site of the tragedy of 60 years ago, fly by helicopter over the mountain ranges of the Urals, learn the secrets of the ancient Cherdyn. An eventful tour full of various discoveries awaits you!

Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting. Ivdel — Ushma — Auspiya River
The meeting of the group at the railway station Ivdel (Sverdlovsk region) at 03:00-04:00. This time is determined by the arrival time of the train.
To get on this train, you need to purchase tickets for it in advance and get to Yekaterinburg by train or plane. And from the Yekaterinburg railway station go to Ivdel.
Loading into cross-country vehicles of the type "Ural", "GAZ-66".
Transfer to the village of Ushma (6-7 hours).
On the way, we enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the Northern Urals from the window.
We will prepare lunch upon arrival.
We will walk along the Auspiya River for about 7 km and camp early, because the day was quite difficult.
Car: 150 km.
Walking distance: 7 km with backpacks.
Accommodation: tents.
Meals: snack on the road, lunch, dinner.
Day 2 - Auspiya River — Fork-spoon parking lot — Dyatlov Pass — parking under the pass
We continue along the Auspiya River.
We will have lunch at the famous tourist parking lot.
This place is also called "Fork-spoon" because of the huge wooden devices carved by tourists. Very close to this place, Dyatlov's group was encamped.
Then we gradually climb up to the Dyatlov pass.
The pass separates Mount Kholat-Chakhl (1,079 m, translated from Mansi "mountain of the dead") and Mount Nine (905 m).
We will make a halt, take pictures of the beautiful panoramas, and go down a little lower, to the stream, where we will set up camp.
Walking distance: 18 km with backpacks.

Day 3 - Parking in front of Dyatlov Pass — parking at Lunthusaptur Lake
In the morning, we will have a steep climb to the main North Ural ridge towards Mount Otorten (1234 m).
At its foot lies the picturesque mountain lake Lunthusaptur (Lake of the Lonely Goose), next to which we will set up camp, cook a delicious lunch and relax, enjoying the views of the Ural taiga.
Walking distance: 12 km with backpacks.

Day 4 - Otorten — Yanig-Hachehahl
After breakfast, we will make a radial ascent light to the top of Mount Otorten. If the weather favors us, we will take amazing photos of the surroundings.
After climbing, we will return to the camp, have lunch, pack our things and make the trek with backpacks towards Yanig-Hachehahl mountain (1024 meters).
On foot: 8 km light, 6 km with backpacks.

Day 5 - The foot of Yanig-Hachehakhl mountain — movement along the Main Ural ridge
Today we walk all day in the direction of the north along the Main Ural ridge and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

Day 6 - The main Ural Ridge is the source of the Pechora River
We continue our journey through the pristine places of the Northern Urals along the great northern Pechora River. We observe the tundra and forest tundra zone almost to the horizon. Such landscapes are unusual for the people of central Russia and therefore especially attractive.
Our maximum plan for today is to reach the sources of Pechora.
On foot: more than 24 km with backpacks.

Day 7 - Reserve day (rest day)
A reserve day in case of bad weather and behind schedule.
Even in summer, the weather in the Northern Urals is very unpredictable. Rains and winds are frequent here, because the Ural Ridge acts as a barrier to the movement of air masses.
If everything goes according to plan, then we will make a day on the route.

Day 8 - Source of the Pechora River — Manpupuner plateau — Source of the Pechora River — Nyrob village
Today is the day when we will climb the Manpupuner plateau. As a last resort, let's go with backpacks to the unique weathering pillars, enjoy the views, and take pictures of "kilometers of film".
After all the enjoyment of the views of the Northern Urals from the ground, let's repeat this, but from the air — a beautiful final point of the active part of the route.
We load into the helicopter and go to the village of Nyrob.
We will check in at the base, go to the sauna, and in the evening we will share our impressions about our trip at the common table.
Transportation: helicopter 90 minutes.
Walking distance: 10 km with backpacks.
Accommodation: base.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 9 - S. Nyrob — Cherdyn — Perm
Our journey has come to an end, and we are going to Perm.
On the way, we stop in the city of Cherdyn — one of the oldest cities in the Urals, and many centuries ago it was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Great Perm. Over the past centuries, the city and its surroundings have hardly changed.
The approximate time of return to Perm is 17:00.
We recommend purchasing plane/train tickets from Perm after 21:00 or the day after the end of the tour.
Transfer: 350 km.
Walking distance: 5 km.
Meals: breakfast.

It's important to know

The hike is a trekking with backpacks, where we carry groceries, personal and public equipment on ourselves. Therefore, you need a good physical shape and a comfortable backpack with a hard back and a wide waist belt.

It is also necessary to be mentally prepared for the difficulties associated with changing weather conditions: from warm sunny weather to strong wind and cold rain. You need to pay as much attention to your equipment as possible.

Equipment:

Backpack 80-100 L (hard back, comfortable and wide waist belt) + small lightweight backpack for radial exits.
A cape on a backpack from the rain.
The rug is a tourist one.
Sleeping bag (comfort temperature 0/-5).
Trekking poles (preferably with ClickLock or FlickLock clips).
A seat with an elastic band (hob).

Clothing and shoes:

Trekking boots (ankle is fixed, thick sole). We wear new shoes 10 days before the hike! Plus brodniks, chevers or ugc stockings to overcome fords.
Sports sandals or slates for the camp.
Gaiters / "lanterns" (worn over boots, protect from dew and debris).
A good raincoat (not polyethylene) or a membrane suit.
Running suit (preferably according to the type of encephalitis with a mesh).
