Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Ivdel ford on the Auspiya River — Kaska parking lot

    The group will meet at the Ivdel railway station (Sverdlovsk region) at 03:00-04:00. This time is determined by the arrival time of the train.

    To get on this train, you need to purchase tickets in advance and get to Yekaterinburg by train or plane. And from Yekaterinburg railway station go to Ivdel.

    Loading into off-road vehicles of the Ural and GAZ-66 types.

    Drop-off to the ford on the Auspiya River (6-7 hours).

    On the way, we enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the Northern Urals from the window.

    We will prepare lunch upon arrival.

    We will walk along the Auspiya River for about 7 km and camp early, because the day was quite difficult.

    By car: 150 km.

    Walking distance: 7 km with backpacks.

    Accommodation: tents.

    Meals: snacks on the road, lunch, dinner.

This tour is suitable for all outdoor enthusiasts in good physical condition with hiking experience and without health problems. 

The weight of the backpack is 18-23 kg. 

Day trips from 7 to 25 km. The total mileage is about 115 km with a backpack and about 8 km light.

Personal equipment you need for the tour

The hike is a backpacking trip, where we carry groceries, personal and public equipment on ourselves. Therefore, you need a good physical condition and a comfortable backpack with a rigid back and a wide waist belt.

It is also necessary to be mentally prepared for the difficulties associated with changing weather conditions: from warm sunny weather to strong wind and cold rain. You need to pay as much attention to your equipment as possible.

Equipment:

  1. Backpack 80-100 liters (hard back, comfortable and wide waist belt) + small lightweight backpack for radial exits.
  2. Rain cover on a backpack.
  3. The travel mat.
  4. Sleeping bag (comfort temperature 0/-5).
  5. Trekking poles (preferably with ClickLock or FlickLock clips).
  6. Elastic band seat (hob).

Clothing and shoes:

  1. Trekking boots (ankle is fixed, thick sole). We wear new shoes 10 days before the hike! 
  2. Brodniks, chevers, or ugc stockings for crossing fords.
  3. Sports sandals or slates for the camp.
  4. Gaiters / "lanterns" (worn over boots, protect from dew and debris).
  5. A good raincoat (not polythene) or a membrane suit.
  6. Running suit (preferably encephalitis type with mesh).
  7. The jacket is insulated.
  8. Fleece jacket.
  9. Thermal underwear 2 sets: running thin lightweight and insulated for sleeping.
  10. Lingerie.
  11. A T-shirt or a long sleeve shirt.
  12. 1-2 T-shirts (preferably synthetic).
  13. Panama hat with mesh, cotton gloves, fleece cap.
  14. Trekking socks (2-3 pairs, synthetic).

What else to take:

  1. Dishes (plate, mug, spoon, knife - not ceramic, matches in hermetic packaging).
  2. Personal hygiene products.
  3. First-aid kit is personal, in case of chronic diseases (the instructor will have a public first-aid kit with a standard set of medicines) + elastic bandage, sterile bandage - 2 pcs., chlorhexidine in small. in a bottle, the patch is rolled on a fabric base, wide.
  4. A headlamp + a set of spare batteries.
  5. A set of threads with a needle.
  6. The lipstick is hygienic.
  7. Thermos flask (0.5 -0.7 liters).
  8. Individual 0.5 l water bottle.
  9. 1 liter of breadcrumbs.
  10. Mosquito and midge repellents 1 canister (preferably DETA).
  11. Personal pocket snack (nuts, bars).
  12. Rope 3-4 m, durable (for drying clothes, repairs).
  13. Sunscreen for the face (50 ml is enough for several people).
  14. UV-resistant sunglasses
