Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting in Moscow. Vladimir and Bogolyubovo
08:45 Gathering of the group in Moscow, Komsomolskaya metro station, in the building of the Leningradsky railway station, in the center of the waiting room on the first floor, by the elevator (sign "Classic Golden Ring").
Moving to Vladimir is one of the largest cities of the Golden Ring of Russia, located on the high bank of the Klyazma River. The main asset of the Vladimir land is the most beautiful examples of white stone architecture included in the UNESCO list. In 1157, Andrei Bogolyubsky moved the capital of the Rostov-Suzdal Principality from Suzdal to Vladimir. After the death of his father, Yuri Dolgoruky, he did not go to reign in Kiev, but made Vladimir the capital of Russia. In the 13th century, the city was captured and ravaged by the troops of Batu Khan. The city never recovered from this shock and already in the 14th century ceded Moscow the status of the capital.

Transfer to Bogolyubovo. Bogolyubovo was first mentioned in chronicles in 1158. Andrey Bogolyubsky founded the settlement for his residence. There is a legend that it was in this place that the prince saw the appearance of the Virgin Mary, who ordered the founding of a monastery and a city.
Excursion program: The Grand Ducal residence of Andrei Bogolyubsky, the architectural ensemble of the Bogolyubsky Monastery. A walk to the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl (depending on weather conditions).
Return to Vladimir.
Excursion program: sightseeing tour, Cathedral Square ensemble. Assumption Cathedral, Dmitrievsky Cathedral is a unique example of Russian white stone carved architecture of the 12th century.

Day 2 - Suzdal and moving to Ivanovo
Breakfast.
We are going on an excursion to Suzdal, the museum city, because there are nowhere such a number of monuments of the history of Russia, as well as ancient buildings that have survived intact and preserved, unique churches and objects of wooden architecture.
Interestingly, at the same time, there is not a single industrial enterprise in Suzdal, which makes it an environmentally friendly place. Most of the buildings in Suzdal are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Excursion program: sightseeing tour, the architecture of the majestic Suzdal Kremlin, the construction of which began in the X century! The stunning Nativity Cathedral. The Spaso-Evfimiev Monastery, founded in 1350, the Transfiguration Cathedral with frescoes by Guriy Nikitin.

Day 3 - Ples and Kostroma
Breakfast.
Departure to Ples, a tiny quiet town on the high bank of the Great Volga. A town popular and beloved by tourists, glorified by the outstanding artist Isaac Levitan.
Excursion program: sightseeing tour of the city with a visit to the Cathedral Mountain, which offers amazing views of the Volga and the beautiful Volga embankment.
Transfer to Kostroma.
Lunch.
In summer, a boat trip along the Volga River will be offered.
We will visit the Ipatievsky Monastery, founded by the zeal of the influential nobleman of the Golden Horde, the Tatar Murza Chet, who was heading through these regions on his way to Moscow to serve the Grand Duke Ivan Kalita.
We will explore the picturesque ensemble of the monastery, the Trinity Cathedral – the main temple of the Ipatievsky monastery. Originally wooden, the cathedral was rebuilt in stone in the middle of the XVI century at the expense of the Godunov boyars, therefore it is sometimes called "Godunovsky".
An excursion to Kostroma Sloboda is one of the few open–air museums where unique monuments of wooden architecture – huts and churches - have been preserved.
Interactive program "Around the stove". The hospitable Sloboda hostess will tell her guests about the life, way of life and traditions of a peasant family.
And after that, the guests will do their own chores: they will try to grab a cast iron from the stove, iron the laundry with a "wooden iron" – a rubel – and walk with a rocker. At the end of the program, tea with gingerbread is served to all guests.
Excursion program: sightseeing tour, Shopping mall complex, Central Square, monument to Ivan Susanin, fire tower, N.Ostrovsky gazebo and much more!

Day 4 - Yaroslavl, Rostov Veliky and Pereslavl-Zalessky
Breakfast.
Departure to Yaroslavl, the capital of the Golden Ring of Russia.
Excursion program: sightseeing tour, the Volga embankment, the oldest part - the arrow of the Volga and Kotorosli rivers, the monument to Yaroslav the Wise– the founder of the city, the Church of Elijah the Prophet. A visit to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, where the famous "The Word about Igor's Regiment" was discovered.
Lunch.
Departure to Rostov Veliky. This cozy city, in which unique historical and architectural monuments of the past centuries are located on a small square (the city is only 6 km long). The city is also famous for its crafts, of which, perhaps, the most famous is the finish painting of enamel miniatures.
Excursion program: The Rostov Kremlin is the former residence of the Metropolitan of the Rostov diocese. An inspection of the architectural ensemble of the Kremlin and one of the many expositions of the museum.
Visit to the craft yard "Firebird" to purchase souvenirs.
Transfer to Pereslavl-Zalessky. Prince Alexander Nevsky was born here in 1220. Since the XV century, Pereslavl-Zalessky has been developing as a significant craft and trade center. In the XV and XVI centuries, he was obliged to deliver fish to the royal court, which was reflected on the coat of arms of the city.
In 1688, Tsar Peter I began the construction of a funny flotilla in Pereslavl-Zalessky, which was successfully completed in 1692.

Day 5 - Sergiev Posad and the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Return to Moscow

Transfer to Sergiev Posad, an ancient town located 52 km from Moscow. The city is known for its main attraction – the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
