I absolutely loved the tour!!! The itinerary was packed, and we got to visit all the most famous places in Dagestan, places we never would have reached on our own. We went high up into the mountains, and the views were simply breathtaking😍 It’s hard to put into words, you really have to see it for yourself! A huge thank-you to our guide Veronika for sharing such fascinating stories about Dagestan. We took this tour from June 17-21 with our guides Kurban and Atlukhan. I won’t go on for too long about the breathtaking beauty of Dagestan, those who’ve been already know, and those who haven’t: don’t hesitate, just go. I’ve been to Sochi, Abkhazia, and Georgia before, but the sheer power, diversity, and majesty of Dagestan’s mountains, rivers, waterfalls, canyons, and landscapes are simply unmatched. Everything captivates you, draws you in, and completely immerses you in peaceful sensations, disconnecting you from your everyday reality. It’s the perfect place to reset! This sense of peace and immersion was made possible thanks to the impeccable organization by the hosting team. We visited each location ahead of the main wave of tourists, and the guides showed us the most photogenic spots, they even took our pictures for us. One day we were hit by heavy rain and hail, which disrupted our schedule, but our amazing guides quickly adapted. They took us to two alternative sites that weren’t originally part of the itinerary (since the weather improved along the way), and then brought us to the missed location the following day. We even stopped on the roadside to take photos with donkeys. Every day of the tour we were treated to different dishes from the local cuisine. I don’t normally eat three full meals a day at home, but here it was like a feast: soup, main courses, sides, desserts, and compote, I’m not exaggerating 😉 Everything was delicious, fresh, and varied. In the evenings, we gathered around the campfire, talked, danced, sang songs, and played Mafia. It was such a warm and lively atmosphere. During our time in the mountains, we stayed three nights in beautiful barn-style cabins fully equipped with modern comforts, cozy mattresses, and soft pillows. Waking up, opening the curtains, and seeing those mountain views with the sound of the river below, it felt like a fairytale. We spent one night in a hotel in Derbent. Derbent is a vibrant, charming city, I’d love to go back and explore more. Honestly, I want to see everything again! The “Dagestan at Full Speed” tour really delivered on its name, it gave us an incredible amount of joy and unforgettable memories. The team thought of every little detail, even hanging a garbage bag in the van to keep things tidy and make life on the road easier. They also provided bottled water and wet wipes for everyone; small touches, but they really made a difference and let us fully enjoy our vacation without hassle. Huge thanks to our fantastic guides, Kurban and Atlukhan. And to our amazing, fun-loving group, people of all ages from different cities, yet we were completely in sync and shared the same vibe. That made it even more special!

I have a feeling it’s going to be hard to enjoy other tours after this one - it was truly outstanding and not easy to top. The team behind it did an incredible job with the planning, organization, and routes, and the sheer number of impressions is beyond words. The places we visited were unbelievably beautiful - I’ve never seen anything like it. At the same time, the itinerary was perfectly balanced, so you not only wanted to see everything, but actually had the energy to do it and make the most of every opportunity. I’d also like to highlight the food - it was amazing. Every meal felt warm and welcoming, almost like being part of a family. Everything was delicious, no matter where it was prepared. Even if you’re not used to Dagestani cuisine, you’ll love it - it’s hard to stop eating :) As the saying goes, it’s better to see something once than hear about it a hundred times - so this is definitely a tour you should experience for yourself (and ideally more than once). And despite what you might expect - there are no aggressive dogs in Dagestan :)

This tour is a great way to get acquainted with Dagestan, although a lot depends on the time of year you visit. In my opinion, it’s best to travel either during the off-season or to plan a longer trip if you really want to explore the region in greater depth.

My son and I visited Dagestan and Chechnya in February, and we absolutely loved it! The nature there is incredible!!! Mountains, gorges, waterfalls, and lakes everywhere. The experience was truly unforgettable and impossible to put into words! The hospitality of the people, the warm welcome, and the delicious cuisine of the North Caucasus will stay in our hearts forever! One thing is certain: this definitely won’t be our last trip to these regions!

I loved everything about this trip!! The tour was very well planned, and our guide, Gamzat, was fantastic. He shared interesting stories, had a great sense of humor, and kept the group entertained throughout the journey. Everything ran smoothly, no traffic delays, no long lines, and the food was delicious. I’d also like to mention the Ocean Hotel in Izberbash, where the beds were exceptionally comfortable and made for a great night's sleep.

Good afternoon! Thank you for the tour! Everything was very well organized, the program was interesting, the hotels were excellent, and I really enjoyed the food. My only concern was with the guide in Dagestan, Gamzat. He came across as overly religious and somewhat aggressive. All the other guides did a great job! We learned a lot of new things. I will definitely turn to your company again for future trips.

A huge thank you to Big Country for an absolutely amazing tour. We went on a 12-day trip through the Caucasus, and it was packed with experiences, we visited so many different places. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we came back full of great memories. The food was incredible everywhere, with generous portions, and we had no issues with any of the hotels. The people of the Caucasus are wonderfully warm and welcoming.

Well organized tour, beautiful natural spots, a laid-back guide, Magomed, and well-planned meals. The hotel was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

Dagestan is a stunning region. We’re really glad we chose a tour with Big Country. Everything was well organized and coordinated on site. I especially appreciated that the group was small, it made traveling together with our driver-guide much more comfortable. A special thank-you to our guide, Mahammad, for the warm welcome and genuine hospitality. The homemade food and the rich excursion program were fantastic. The only thing I’d reconsider is arranging overnight stays in different locations when heading deeper into the mountains, returning to the same place each time took a lot of time and energy.

Throughout the trip I got to see incredibly beautiful places, and the itinerary was arranged so well that each day felt even more impressive than the last. Ruslan also handled any issues that came up during the tour quickly and efficiently, including those related to meals. Since I don’t eat spicy food, he arranged with the kitchen to prepare my dishes without any hot seasonings. I really appreciated that! We stayed in guesthouses with gorgeous mountain views, very cozy and comfortable.

The excursions were conducted at a very high level, and we learned a lot of interesting and new information. The journeys themselves were smooth and comfortable, and the driver’s professionalism was clearly evident (especially considering that taxi rides in the region can sometimes be quite extreme). We were very fortunate. Adil drove carefully and always maintained a comfortable temperature in the vehicle. Thank you once again. A significant amount of time was spent on the road. Perhaps in the future it would be worth considering accommodations closer to the main locations (some transfers were quite long). However, the guide’s engaging stories and traditional music helped pass the travel time pleasantly. The food was delicious and filling. The focus on national cuisine was a major highlight of the tour. We were especially impressed by the trout, it was absolutely divine. We stayed at the Ocean 3 * hotel (Izberbash). The room was clean. The only minor downside was a slight smell of alcohol after the air conditioner was turned off, which was a bit unpleasant but did not affect our overall impression. The hotel staff were friendly, the beach is nearby, and there are shops on the ground floor where you can buy everything you need. Unfortunately, we were not entirely lucky with our group. Some participants behaved inappropriately at times, creating tension and frequently expressing dissatisfaction. As they say, no group is without its challenges... Thanks to the guide’s excellent conflict-management skills, these situations were handled smoothly. Oh well. Thank you once again! See you again soon!

I really enjoyed the tour itself, and all the guides were great! For my taste, the schedule was a bit too packed, and there wasn’t much free time to explore the city on our own (especially in Makhachkala). However, I understand that a lot of time was spent on the road and the number of days was limited. Overall, I have a very positive impression of the tour.
